The challenge
Fantasy wanted its AI tools to feel like a considered design product, not a generic chatbot — each with its own personality, voice and visual identity, fast enough to hold a conversation and embeddable into its AI toolkit site.
What we did
- Built Fantasy’s design as a lightweight Preact app with an animated intro, a guided opening sequence and a focused prompt screen per tool.
- Wrote a NestJS backend that streams GPT responses to the page word by word, with a separate system prompt and personality for each tool.
- Added text-to-speech with ElevenLabs so answers can be heard, plus background music and animation that reacts to the conversation.
- Kept conversation history in Redis so users can return to earlier threads, and added password protection for previews.
- Worked through cross-browser details such as Safari audio and input quirks, preloading media so the experience starts instantly.
